Monday Makeup Madness: 6 Vampy Lipstick Shades to Suit Everyone!

Fall 2012 lip trends take a dark and gothic twist  this season.  One must follow makeup trend of the season is dark lipstick.  Shades of deep, wine-tinged hues to nearly black tones are on every fashionista’s lips. Wearing vampy lips may be out of your comfort zone but don’t fear there are a huge range of lipstick hues to try out this season depending on your complexion and your courage level.  Let’s take a look at a couple of my favorite vampy shades of the season.

1.  Clinique Black Honey

Clinique Black Honey is a pretty wine shade that had to be on this list.  It is the perfect shade of vampy lipstick for those who want to try out the trend but don’t want something too dark.  Its texture is super sheer so the color is soft but you can build it up or pair it with a darker lipliner once you get more comfortable.

2.  Givenchy Black Plum

Givecnhy’s Black Plum is another sheer option but with a bit more color payoff.  What’s nice about this one is that it feels like a lipbalm but with the color of a glossy lipstick.

3.  Tom Ford – Black Orchid

Black Orchid is a bit more of a dramatic color with its plum/red tone but it’s not too dark.  Tom Ford lipsticks are pricy – but it is a luxurious lipstick after all   Darker lipstick requires a precice lipliner to make the lips look perfect.

4.  Revlon Rasin Rage

Revlon’s Raisin Rage is said to be the 90′s brown lipstick that you may remember Cindy Crawford to be wearing in ads.  In reality it is a mixture of burgundy, purple and plum and has a creamy texture.  It’s not too light nor is it too dark…kind of in the middle of both worlds.  A pretty shade that would look good on most of us.  Play with the color to suit your skin tone with different shades of lipliner.

5.  MAC Diva

MAC Diva has been a personal favorite of mine for years.  Its such a beautiful deep wine shade of lipstick that looks elegant and classy.  It has a matte finish and suits many different skin tones   Pair it with a slightly deeper shade of lipliner for the ultimate vampy lip.

6.  Chanel La Provocante Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick

Chanel La Provocante was sold out abroad almost immediately.  Its a deep dark purply red color with a matte velvety finish.  Its the essence of vampy lips.  Its a darker color so precise lip liner is a must.  Such a stunning color which is a great option for the daring.
