REVIEW & SWATCHES: Riri Hearts Mac Lipsticks!
Today I'm bringing you the Rihanna Hearts Mac lipsticks.
I went a little swatch crazy before remembering that I should photograph them, so sorry they look less than perfect! I've also had Ririwoo since it first initially launched and so it's a lot more worn down then the others.
ONWARD
Being that this collection was for Rihanna fans, the website practically imploded when they launched. My roommate Amanda and I waited TWO HOURS before we finally go our orders to go through.

All of the lipsticks are a retro matte finish which is one of those finishes that you either love or hate. It's extremely dry, but incredibly pigmented. I happen to be a super fan of the formula because it's so incredibly matte that it looks so wonderful, it's incredibly pigmented, and you barely have to touch it up once it's initially applied.
That being said, those of you with dryer lips or older skin might have trouble pulling these off. I haven't noticed flaking on myself, but I know that was a common complaint women older than me were having.
When applying these lipsticks, I noticed that they had a tendency to feather a bit outside my natural lip line. This can be fixed easily with concealer or a lip liner, but it's still a negative nonetheless.
HEAUX
This lipstick was described as a "matte berry" and it's a super gorgeous shade. This is one of the shades in the collection that I was thinking "why is this being released in the summer?" but it's still a gorgeous colour.
It's got a bit of a sheen when first applied, but it dries down to a perfect matte after a few minutes. This one had some pulling issues, but it was fully opaque and didn't budge.
RIRI BOY
This shade was described as a "vivid lavender" which sounds a lot scarier than it looks. It's definitely not as pastel as lavender implies, and it's nowhere near as scary as Viva Glam Nicki 2 (jesus christ pastel lips). It's a really versatile shade that I think is pretty wearable. It's definitely super cool toned, so if you've got a warmer skin tone this might look freaky on you.
The formula was much smoother and creamier than the other two lipsticks in the collection. It applied easily without tugging and was fully opaque. It didn't dry as completely matte as the other two shades, however.
I noticed a lot of people online were trying to dupe Riri Boy for Mac's Heroine lipstick, but as you can see from the swatches below they are not dupes. Heroine is a super vivid Barney purple compared the cool lighter lavender shade.

RIRI WOO
Riri Woo is described as "cool red" and it's quite possibly the most perfect red shade in the history of red lipstick. It is literally a half shade darker than the famous Ruby Woo, so if you're sad you missed out on this guy you're not really missing TOO much.
It's super long lasting, but the driest of the three (must be something in their red pigment). It feathered the most, but I would honestly recommend wearing a lip liner with red anyway.
Overall this collection delivered three gorgeous matte shades that are pretty versatile for a range of skin tones (apart from riri boy) that are long wearing and pretty wearable. They are a bit (to be nice) on the dry side, but they are fully opaque and last all day.
